Summer Cook for Teen Volunteers Since 1992

Ask any VISIONS British Virgin Islands (BVI) alum from the past 22 years about the local characters who made a lasting impression on them, and most are sure to mention Carol Williams (Miss Carol). This bubbly, warm spirited, maternal woman has helped nourish and care for VISIONS teen volunteer groups since our first BVI summer program in 1992.

She not only knows her way around the kitchen, where she prepares her delicious and often traditional Caribbean meals, but she also knows the ins-and-outs of the island community. Miss Carol often gets to know our students well, helps them immerse in the local culture, is protective of the group during their stay, and cries when they leave!

Miss Carol has helped VISIONS participants in so many ways, and now it’s time for us to help her.

Carol’s home in Sea Cow’s Bay, not far from the VISIONS home base, was recently destroyed in a fire when a truck driver struck an electrical wire near the home. VISIONS has donated money to go towards a rebuild, and we are also offering the chance for others to help support Miss Carol through an online You Caring campaign. We are already almost halfway to our fundraising goal.

Browse through the donations that have poured in, along with the comments, and the lasting impression that Miss Carol has had on VISIONS participants is quite evident.
