VISIONS Service Adventures offers not just remarkable experiences that have enhanced college essays, but also transformative journeys that go far beyond the college application.
Meaningful Service
One of the cornerstones of VISIONS programs is meaningful service. We’re not a teen tour, “pay to play” experience or voluntourism. Participants sign up for challenging experiences where grit, resilience, teamwork and a commitment to making a real difference are essential. Whether it’s building schools or participating in environmental initiatives, VISIONS teen volunteers engage in high-impact community service that fosters empathy and leadership. Claire Hortens, one of our alumni, reflected on her VISIONS experience—where she learned the virtue of patience while working on community projects. Global Perspective
In today’s interconnected world, global awareness and cross-cultural communication are vital skills. Building lasting connections is a significant part of VISIONS high school volunteer programs. Together, participants experience a new environment while engaged in service work. They discuss and process what they experience through circle, which in turn helps form deep bonds, foster a sense of belonging and create a supportive network for the future.
