25 Days | Summer 2018
Ecuador community service projects completed in partnership with local community members and El Municipio de Patate.
- Completed bathroom construction in the Tahuaicha Community Center:
- Mixed and poured 220 pounds of concrete to set the floor.
- Dug a trench to install plumbing.
- Plastered, sanded and painted exterior and interior walls.
- Installed toilets
- Installed a new floor in the Puñapi’s coliseum:
- Picked and removed worn floor.
- Mixed, poured and distributed 44,000 pounds of concrete.
- Regularly assisted staff at a center for adults with disabilities. Served more than 30 community members by running activities in art, English, dance and soccer.
- With a local farmer in San Cristobal, Galápagos, assisted with harvesting, cutting and installing new posts for perimeter fence. Removed tattered fencing and cleared weeds.
- Spent a day helping to remove weeds from a community member’s garden in Puñapi.
- With a group of elders, organized a two-hour cultural exchange of art and dance.
