Would you like to make a difference for a family on the Northern Cheyenne Indian reservation? VISIONS longtime partner, Cheyenne Children Services, is working hard to collect winter coats, books, and toys or other presents for children and families on the reservation.

Florence Running Wolf founded CCS in 1989 with the aim of providing educational and material support to Northern Cheyenne families. VISIONS participants have known and worked with Florence and her husband Mike since our first southeastern Montana program, in 1992. Teens have constructed a large garage, painted, and done maintenance repairs at CCS over the years.

VISIONS participants also have spent time with Florence and Mike during social and cultural events. Mike invites us to join in his sweat lodges, Florence and her sisters teach traditional beading, and we camp with the Running Wolfs during pow wow celebrations.

It gets cold on the Northern Cheyenne during wintertime (-8 as we write). Coats, new or used, will be distributed to adults and children. Florence also hopes to collect new toys and holiday gifts for kids. If you would like to donate, you may send items directly to CCS at the address below.

If you would like to sponsor a Northern Cheyenne child on a year-round basis, you may do so here, or by calling VISIONS. CCS is updating their website, so please call with any questions.
