Our Commitment to Inclusivity and Accessibility: Making Life-Changing Experiences Possible

We believe in the power of meaningful experiences to shape young lives, spark passions and build a sense of purpose and connection to the world. Every teenager who is seeking a volunteer or cultural exchange opportunity should have access to these opportunities. True inclusion means creating an environment where diverse voices thrive and ensuring our programs are accessible.

Why We Prioritize Accessibility

Experiences like ours—immersive, challenging, and rooted in community—are transformative. They offer teens the chance to make a positive difference, build leadership skills and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world. We have seen firsthand how servicework can shape a young person’s path, open doors to new perspectives and forge lasting friendships. Yet, we know that the road to these experiences isn’t always easy for everyone.

For some families, financial constraints or other barriers can make these experiences feel out of reach. At VISIONS, we believe that socioeconomic background shouldn’t prevent a teen from engaging with the world, gaining life skills or learning how to be of service. That’s why we are committed to making our programs as accessible as possible with scholarships and payment options to help bridge the gap.

Scholarships: Opening Doors

We provide a number of partial scholarships to help families cover anywhere from $500 to about half of tuition. We also carve out funds for a few full scholarships for motivated students whose families don’t have the resources to cover anything other than airfare, thereby helping make their dreams of making a difference a reality. VISIONS scholarships are not just awards; they’re a testament to our belief that every student should have the opportunity to experience the value of giving back.

These scholarships cover a portion of program fees, helping to ease the financial burden for families and opening doors for students who might not otherwise be able to participate. Each year, we work with donors and alumni to expand our scholarship fund, reaching more teens who are eager to make a positive impact. We also partner with several organizations that work with high-achieving / low-income teens—VISIONS provides partial scholarships for their students to attend, and the partners and students fundraise for the balance of tuition.

Payment Options

We know that every family’s situation is unique, and financial planning for a service adventure may require flexibility. That’s why we offer payment plans to meet families’ needs. If a family requires an extended payment timeline, we work with them to create a manageable plan.

Inclusivity as a Core Value

Inclusivity is not just a goal at VISIONS—it’s part of our identity. Beyond financial accessibility, we’re dedicated to creating spaces where teens from all backgrounds feel welcomed, respected and empowered. We believe that learning from and working with others from different perspectives makes the experience richer for everyone involved. Embracing diversity gives our participants a broader view of the world and the communities they serve.

How You Can Support Our Mission

Our commitment to accessibility is a shared journey. We’re grateful to the generous supporters and alumni who make it possible to expand our scholarship fund each year. Their contributions expand our program’s reach, creating a ripple effect that positively impacts communities around the world.

If you’re interested in supporting our mission, please consider donating to our scholarship fund. Your generosity can help remove barriers for a student who’s eager to learn, grow, and make a difference.
