Volunteer Discounts in the BVI Aim to Boost Economy

Assist in BVI Hurricane Relief,
Take a Vacation

Since the historic hurricane season of 2017, tourism in the BVI has seen a slow recovery. This inertia has added yet another obstacle to the islands’ rebuilding process, as the economy relies heavily on the tourism industry. It’s a bit of a vicious cycle – without tourism, funds are lacking to rebuild infrastructure; and without new infrastructure, tourists are hesitant to return.

Recently, various local tourist companies have collaborated to both propel the industry and reward groups that are aiding in the relief process. These companies are currently offering a variety of discounts to families of those involved with volunteer organizations (i.e. VISIONS).

So, in solidarity with our beloved BVI community, we would like to encourage you to consider visiting the BVI in 2019. Whether you take a full blown vacation or just a brief SCUBA trip to experience the world-class coral reefs, this could be your chance to both kick back AND give back:

Any further questions can be directed to the listed vendors or our friend on the Tourist Board, Mike Rowe: mrowe@bvitourism.com.
