1. What inspired you to join VISIONS?

When I first read about what VISIONS does, everything seemed fascinating. Two of my key drivers in life are having fun and contributing something meaningful to society, and VISIONS gives me the chance to do both.

2. What experiences have shaped your passion for community service and youth development?

I’ve been working with youth for several years, and I always find it rewarding and fun. Besides being a leader for VISIONS Peru last summer, I’ve worked with children in a refugee settlement in Uganda, participated in a Boy Scout group in Spain, and volunteered for the European Solidarity Corps in Croatia a few years ago.

3. What is your favorite achievement?

I’m proud of my adventurous and adaptive side. Stepping out of my comfort zone—moving multiple times to different countries, adjusting to new environments, and building a new routine and social network—felt scary at first, but it has been absolutely rewarding.

4. What is your favorite place you’ve traveled?

The Azores Islands in Portugal. The combination of volcanic peaks, turquoise lakes, and vivid green landscapes everywhere you look is simply stunning.

5. What is the best advice you’ve received?

Kindness inspires kindness.

6. What do you hope to accomplish this summer?

I hope to build strong connections and create unforgettable memories. My goal is to live every day to the fullest.

7. What are you most excited about this summer?

It’s hard to choose because there’s so much to look forward to: nature, culture, food, adventures… But above all, I’m excited to meet new people—leaders, students, and locals—and learn from all of them.

8. If you had to give one piece of advice or words of encouragement to someone on their first VISIONS experience, what would it be?

Last year, I was new to VISIONS myself, and I started with an open mind, reminding myself to stay humble and positive. You can always learn something from every experience!
