Emily grew up in the Seattle area in a very musical household. Both of her parents are musicians, and throughout her childhood Emily played the piano and sang in choirs. Later on she picked up the violin and was fortunate enough to play with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as the City Opera Ballet Orchestra in Bellevue, Washington.
Emily went on to study music and French at Western Washington University in Bellingham. After graduating, she was accepted to the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) and promptly moved to a small French town where little English is spoken. During her stay, she was able to combine her love of travel and language with a true talent for teaching.
Recently, Emily moved to Bozeman, Montana, to experience a true Rocky Mountain winter. She spends her days practicing with the Bozeman Symphony and nights hustling as a waitress at one of Bozeman’s favorite restaurants to save up for a graduate degree in Music Education.
Emily was a VISIONS leader with the Guadeloupe program last summer and is excited to return as our 2018 Director. She is eager to see community friends again and introduce them to our new participants. Emily will be joined by her full team of qualified leaders.
