Emily grew up in the Seattle area in a very musical household. Both of her parents are musicians, and throughout her childhood Emily played the piano and sang in choirs. Later on she picked up the violin and was fortunate enough to play with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as the City Opera Ballet Orchestra in Bellevue, Washington.
Emily went on to study music and French at Western Washington University in Bellingham. After graduating, she was accepted to the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) and promptly moved to a small French town where little English is spoken. During her stay, she was able to combine her love of travel and language with a true talent for teaching. She is now taking her passions to the next level by pursuing a graduate degree in Music Education to one day be an orchestra conductor.

This will be Emily’s third season working with VISIONS Guadeloupe and second season as director. She is eager to see community friends again and introduce them to our new participants. Emily will be joined by her full team of qualified leaders.
