PROTECTING YOUR TUITION INVESTMENT

If VISIONS cancels a program, then you will be covered under our tuition refund policy. However, if you cancel for any reason leading up to or during the program, then all or part of your tuition will be nonrefundable. Read more about tuition refund policies

VISIONS cannot answer insurance-related questions and we must leave that to the insurance providers. Below is one policy that we recommend, and you may contact info@travmark.com or 1-877-500-1556 with questions. You may also research additional insurance options online or consult with your insurance carrier.

Activity Coverage

The Activity Coverage plan is for U.S. residents only, but not available for residents of Washington state. Other plans for non-U.S. and Washington residents may be viewed below. This plan has been specifically designed to protect against many of the common risks that can arise for our participating families. The Activity Coverage Plan offers a variety of benefits and coverages to protect participants before and during the program:

  • Coverage for COVID-19
  • *Optional Cancel For Any Reason coverage
  • **Coverage for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
  • Trip Cancellation coverage up to $30,000
  • No exclusion for mental, nervous and psychological disorders
  • Coverage for Adventure, Extreme and Winter Sports
  • Security Evacuation coverage
  • Travel Medical and Emergency Evacuation coverages
  • Baggage Loss and Delay, including coverage for Sporting Equipment
  • Trip Interruption, Trip Delay and Missed Connection

*Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) covers cancellation for any reason not otherwise covered by the policy, and pays up to 75% (50% in Florida) of the nonrefundable trip costs. For CFAR, you must purchase prior to final trip payment***, insure your full trip cost, and cancel before 48 hours of scheduled departure. CFAR is not available to NY residents. (No CFAR insurance policies are allowed for NY residents.)

**The Pre-Existing Medical Condition exclusion is waived if the full cost of all nonrefundable payments are insured and the plan is purchased prior to final trip payment.

ADDITIONAL NOTES FROM VISIONS
If you have questions about policies, call TravMark. Below are some clarifications of common questions, with answers put into VISIONS words. The verbiage of the actual insurance policies are always what is instituted, so please read those policies on the Activity Coverage link.

  • ***Final trip payment / tuition balance is due by VISIONS on March 1st. If you enroll for a program after March 1st (if spaces remain available), then tuition is due upon being accepted to the program. For CFAR coverage, you must purchase the insurance no later than the same day as paying that tuition balance / full tuition.
  • If you purchase CFAR (by covering your entire trip cost and adhering to policy deadlines), you automatically also have the “non-CFAR” plan, which covers 100% of nonrefundable trip costs, whereas CFAR only covers 75% / or 50% in FL. The difference is that non-CFAR is only for covered reasons (which generally are medical-related; see policy for details), whereas CFAR covers any reason for cancellation, as long as cancellation happens prior to 48 hours before trip travel begins. Non-CFAR also covers “trip interruption” (i.e.: once the program has begun, but for those covered reasons only).
  • Most VISIONS families at minimum do the non-CFAR trip cancellation / interruption insurance, but many go with full CFAR coverage.
