Overview

If VISIONS cancels a program, you will be covered under our tuition refund policy. However, if you cancel for any reason leading up to or during the program, all or part of your tuition will be nonrefundable. Read more about tuition refund policies

VISIONS works with TravMark to provide insurance options for participants. If you have questions about the plans, please contact TravMark directly at info@travmark.com or 1-877-500-1556.  

VISIONS requires all participants to purchase, at minimum, evacuation insurance through TravMark’s Standard Activity Insurance, which provides support in the event of an evacuation or emergency. This insurance does not cover tuition payments or medical expenses. Please read more below about how to purchase this coverage. Note that if you purchase the Standard Activity Insurance Plan, you do not need to buy additional evacuation insurance.

Activity Insurance

There are two plans to choose from. Please note that the Activity Plan and Activity Insurance Plus Plan are available for U.S. residents only, but not for residents of Missouri and Montana. Descriptions of the Activity Insurance plan and a link to detailed plan documents can be found here.

Note: All participants are required to purchase evacuation insurance through the Activity Insurance Plan, which costs $45.00 (depending on your state of residence).  If you only wish to purchase the required evacuation insurance, which does not cover tuition payments or medical expenses, please enter a trip cost of $0.

1. Activity Insurance: The Standard Plan includes a package of Non-Insurance Services plus insurance benefits including Program Cancellation and Interruption, Program Delay, Accident and Sickness Medical Expense, Baggage and Personal Effects, and Baggage Delay.

Waiver of the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion: The exclusion for Pre-Existing Condition will be waived provided: (a) You are medically able and not disabled from travel at the time your plan cost is paid based on assessment of a physician; and (b) You purchase this plan at or before the final payment for Your Program.

2. Activity Insurance Plus: (Not Available to Residents of New York). The Activity Plus Plan includes a package of Non-Insurance Services plus insurance benefits including Program Cancellation and Interruption, Program Delay, Accident and Sickness Medical Expense, Baggage and Personal Effects, Baggage Delay, plus a Cancel For Any Reason benefit that allows you to cancel your Program for any reason provided you purchase this plan within 21 days of the date your initial payment or deposit for your program is received and you cancel your program up to 2 (two) days before your scheduled Departure Date of your program.

If You cancel Your Program for any reason not otherwise covered by this Plan, (CFAR) benefits provide reimbursement up to 75% of the Prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable Payment or Deposits You paid for Your Program.

Please Note: The Cancel For Any Reason Benefit is applicable to all prepaid non-refundable insured program costs.

ADDITIONAL NOTES FROM VISIONS

If you have questions about policies, please call TravMark. Below are some clarifications of common questions, with answers put into VISIONS words. The verbiage of the actual insurance policies are always what is instituted, so please read descriptions of the plan here

  • All participants must purchase evacuation insurance through the Standard Activity Insurance Plan at a cost of $45.00 (depending on your state of residence) which does not cover tuition payments or medical expenses. To do this, please select the Standard Activity Insurance Plan and enter a trip cost of $0. 
  • For Activity Insurance Plus, which includes CFAR coverage, you must purchase this plan within 21 days of the date of your deposit. 
  • If you cancel your program for any reason not otherwise covered by the Activity Insurance Plus Plan (CFAR, when all conditions are met) benefits provide reimbursement up to 75% of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable payment or deposits paid for your Program.
  • Most VISIONS families at minimum do the Standard Activity Insurance, but many go with full CFAR coverage. 
  • You may research additional insurance options online or consult with your insurance carrier. 

Insurance for Non-U.S. Residents

For participants who live outside of the United States, TravMark offers United Healthcare Global Safe Trip travel protection plans. SafeTrip plans can offer additional benefits such as trip cancellation, interruption or delay, emergency evacuation, emergency medical expenses,and  lost, damaged, or stolen luggage.
