Community Service Projects

Montana Northern Cheyenne

15 Days | Summer 2018

All Northern Cheyenne Reservation community service projects were taken on in partnership with local organizations.

1)  For the Muddy Fire Hall, built two 3-by-8-foot workbenches for working and storage.

2)  With the Shoulder Blade Senior Center, helped prepare and serve lunch to approximately 100 community elders.

3)  With the Northern Cheyenne Boys and Girls Club, worked with local youth, organizing activities and supervising the children.

4)  In partnership with Henry Thompson at the Extension Office at Chief Dull Knife College, cleaned up and weeded the Healing Garden; repaired and rebuilt 4-by-6-foot wooden gate in the garden fence; set up and hosted community Slip ’N Slide for local youth to cool off.

5)  At the Lame Deer Fire Hall, demolished a dilapidated sidewalk and built a 3-by-30-foot concrete one.

6)  Cleaned up trash at Crazy Head Springs to beautify the public area.

7)  In partnership with Audrey Arpan at Chief Dull Knife College, pulled weeds, watered plants and organized tools at the Community Garden.
