Cambodia community service projects completed in partnership with Prek Preah Sdach Primary School.
- Constructed a 2-by-112-foot wall with nine 5-foot pillars:
- Cleared trash and debris from property.
- Dug a trench for the foundation using hoes, shovels and pry bars.
- Filled the trench with stone, concrete and rebar, creating the foundation.
- Framed the walls with rebar pillars and wood.
- Filled the rebar pillars with concrete and the walls with concrete and bricks.
- Painting the walls.
- Prek Preah Sdach serves about 200 children year-round. Before this project, there was no perimeter wall enclosing the school..
- Led classes for about 200 primary school students that aimed to improve their English:
- Developed lesson plans and lesson debriefs.
- Included games which incorporated lesson themes and introduced new vocabulary.
- Practiced sentence construction and conversations and provided lesson reviews at the end of each day.
