“When you participate in VISIONS, you get a home away from home. I have participated in two VISIONS programs, in Peru and in Montana, as well as other summer programs for teens. One thing with VISIONS is that time is made to share your thoughts and feelings about the volunteer and cultural experience.

VISIONS is a chance to be the best version of yourself—that’s the best way to describe it. I gained new perspectives on what I take for granted.

It’s an incredible way to be with people who have common goals for the summer. I made friends who I know I will keep in touch with for many years to come. The staff are some of the most inspiring and dedicated people I have ever met, and I am excited to one day be a staff member myself.

There’s something about VISIONS that attracts the most amazing people. It’s an experience I encourage every young person to have.”

Update from Adira: “After graduating high school in 2012, I took a Gap Year and traveled to Ecuador, India and Israel, which was definitely inspired by the time I had with VISIONS.”
