Raven Earls was born and raised in upstate New York, where she grew up spending summers camping, hiking, and swimming in any body of water she could find. The summer after her sophomore year of college she left the country on her own for the first time, traveling to Kruger National Park in South Africa for an internship in wildlife conservation, which sparked a lifelong love of travel and adventure. Two years later she had the opportunity to spend a summer in Costa Rica on a permaculture farm and animal sanctuary, where she learned about sustainable farming, practiced her Spanish, and fostered a baby howler monkey.
After graduating with a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Albany, Raven spent three years as an environmental educator in New England, California, and Washington State. She is now a 6th grade science and math teacher at a Massachusetts public school where she shares her love of experiential education and social-emotional learning with her students. When she’s not working, Raven enjoys hiking, reading, baking and seeking out new farmers markets and swimming holes.
Raven served as a VISIONS leader in Montana in 2020 and returned to VISIONS in 2023 as a leader in the BVI. She is thrilled to reunite with the Caribbean and our local partners this summer. Raven will be joined by a full leader team.
