Six Reasons to Plan Your 2020 Summer Now

Why Plan for 2020 teen travel programs now

Feel like this past summer just came to a close, and next summer is far away? It’s not too early to start planning; in fact, by the time the holidays hit, you will be glad that you did. Believe it or not, many high school and middle schoolers start planning their summers as soon as fall is in full swing. This time of year, you’re probably fresh and clear-headed from a recent summer break. It’s also possible that you’re missing the new friends you made and the excitement you experienced through your last summer program. Why not channel that energy into planning for a 2020 teen travel program?

You might have a clear idea of where you want to go next. Maybe it’s a teen travel program in the U.S. or one that’s abroad. Maybe it’s less about location and more about following your passions with cultural immersion programs or community service programs. Maybe you have only an inkling, or no idea whatsoever… but you know you want to do something.

There is an old adage: “What you give is what you get.” The time you take now to consider and explore options for the summer ahead will pay off in the long run, especially for teen travel programs. Here are six reasons why:

1.) Time to Research Options

You’re only going to get busier in the new year, with school work, sports, social activities, you name it! You have time now, and time over the upcoming holiday breaks from school, to browse websites, call organizaers of 2020 teen travel programs, attend camp fairs, and talk to friends about their past summer experiences.

2.) Early Bird Discounts!

Teen travel programs appreciate getting an early headcount as it helps them prepare for the summer trips ahead. This means that many offer special deals in the fall to incentivize participants to register early. VISIONS offers special pricing on select 2020 teen travel programs for the rest of 2019.

3.) Save Your Spot

If you start exploring fall 2019 and find a 2020 teen travel program that intrigues you—maybe even feels like “the thing you want to do”—you will probably be able to reserve a spot before it fills up. If that’s the case, contact the organization, express your interest, and ask for references from past program participants and their parents so you can get the straight scoop about their experience.

4.) Cheaper Plane Tickets

You can make travel plans while airfares are relatively low. The closer you get to summer, the higher the airplane ticket prices go.

5.) Be Extra Prepared

While there’s a chill, and maybe even snow, in the air, you can start daydreaming about your summer. You will have time to read about the program that you have chosen, the place, country and/or culture you will be visiting. Maybe, you’ll get your friends excited about choosing a similar experience.

6.) Better Payment Options

The earlier you make a firm decision, the more potential there will be for your family to arrange a monthly payment plan. Most companies will accommodate payment plans for participants, especially for early applicants.
