VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS FOR GROUPS
Year-round availability and choice of any VISIONS location
In addition to summer programs, VISIONS runs high quality, customized volunteer travel programs for schools, clubs and other groups of people who want to travel with the spirit of community service, cultural immersion and adventure.
- Choose from any of our program locations, any time of year
- Open to people of all ages, school groups, youth clubs, etc.
- Teachers are welcome
- Minimum duration is seven days; maximum duration is eight weeks
- Minimum group size is ten; maximum group size is 30
- A typical week is five volunteer days and two excursion days
- Afternoons after work include cultural activities and outings
- All aspects are included: projects, leaders, lodging, meals, transportation, excursions, administrative support, VISIONS insurance
- Leaders are people who also work with our teen summer programs
- We customize to meet your group’s goals, keeping in mind the successful framework of the VISIONS experience
In 25 years of doing experiences like this with students, the VISIONS program in the Dominican Republic was of the highest quality. Not only were the students thoroughly immersed in a language and culture very different from their own but also they had the chance to work alongside students from the DR, colleagues very similar in age and interests… Our young people have returned from the DR with the immense satisfaction of a job well done (we actually built a school room to a very crowded facility) [and] with new friends.
I would say that the people from VISIONS are too humble. We feel blessed in the partnership that we have created with them—they make a real difference and are deeply rooted with local people. As chaperons, we work in a very integrated way with their team. Also, our kids loved it, and many of them said that it was a life changing experience. The trips are challenging emotionally, physically and spiritually; it is not a vacation. The kids felt trusted as citizens of the world to make this earth a better place.
